We thought given that across Ireland and Northern Ireland there are beautiful homes, we would compile them all together for you to take a look. Let us know which is your favourite in the comments below, enjoy:

1. Single-storey Carnivan House in County Wexford

The single-storey Carnivan House overlooks the sea from a cliff-top vantage point in Fethard on Sea, so Aughey O’Flaherty Architects designed the residence with floor-to-ceiling windows and a rooftop terrace. Take a closer look at this amazing home on the Dezeen here.

2. Selfbuild with sea view in County Down

Colin and Barbara Barry had always wanted to self-build on a site with sea views, and when a large plot in Co Down completely open to the sea on three sides came up for sale, they didn’t hesitate in taking this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When you have, as Colin and Barbara did, a very clear idea of the setting and type of house you want to build, getting it all together is quite a tall order. Take a closer look at Colin and Barbara’s home on the Selfbuild site here.

3. Dark limestone home in County Cork

The existing house is roofed in natural slate with rendered white walls. New structures are clad in Irish blue limestone. This natural material weathers over time to match the geology of the surrounding cliffs. The stone becomes highly reflective when wet. The loads of the stone to the roof and the walls are supported by a reinforced concrete structure providing thermal mass that regulates temperatures and stores heat. Take a closer look at this home on Dezeen here.

4. Grillagh Water house in County Derry

Patrick Bradley’s container house in Northern Ireland was featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs. Take a closer look at the design process and get a tour of the house on the Selfbuild site here.

5.  A Concrete House in Dublin

“The house is an exploration of diagonal space within an orthogonal form and the possibilities of integrating environmental concerns at a fundamental level,” says Diarmaid Brophy of FLK Architects. Take a closer look at this home here.
