Today we catch up with Marie-Claire from Marie-Claire Fine Art and find out what inspires her work.

1.What makes your product unique?

I am probably best known for my large paintings. I paint mostly with a palette knife so my work is highly textured and full of life.

This year I have developed my work into a range of gifts and accessories which I am now selling across the UK and further afield.

2.What inspires you as an artist/maker?

Lots of things- other artists, my local countryside. Completing a painting inspires me to do another! I hope my work reflects the love I have for animals.

3.How did you get started?
I graduated from University with degree in Design and then a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I have been teaching in a local grammar school for over ten years. I feel I’ve got the best of both as I love both my teaching career and creating my own artwork.

4.Why do you think it is important to keep local?

Boasting the local community and you can buy a quirky one-off gift!

5.What motto do you live/work by?

Just enjoy what you do. Simple.
